Jetour to Enter Nepal With T1 and T2 PHEVs at NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2026
Nepal’s SUV market is entering a new phase, and Laxmi e-Mobility, under Laxmi Group, is preparing to bring one of the most diverse vehicle lineups yet to the country.
At the upcoming NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2026, the company will introduce Jetour, a rising Chinese SUV brand known for combining rugged design with advanced hybrid technology, alongside new models from Arcfox and BAIC.
Leading Jetour’s arrival will be the T1 PHEV and T2 PHEV, two plug-in hybrid SUVs that introduce a new proposition to Nepal’s growing premium SUV segment. Positioned between conventional combustion-powered SUVs and fully electric vehicles, these models aim to deliver the versatility of an SUV with the efficiency of electrification.
The introduction of Jetour will be part of Laxmi e-Mobility’s broader strategy to expand its portfolio with multiple powertrain technologies.
Alongside Jetour, the company is also preparing to showcase the Arcfox T1 electric crossover and the BAIC BJ30 hybrid SUV, creating a lineup spanning electric vehicles, plug-in hybrids and lifestyle-oriented SUVs.
Jetour: A New SUV Brand Set to Arrive in Nepal
Established under Chery Holding Group, Jetour has rapidly expanded into international markets with an SUV-focused lineup built around adventure-inspired design, technology and practicality.
Unlike traditional SUV manufacturers that are gradually transitioning towards electrification, Jetour has built its identity around new-energy vehicles from the beginning, offering hybrid and electric models while retaining the rugged character associated with SUVs.
The arrival of Jetour comes at a time when Nepali buyers are increasingly exploring alternatives to conventional petrol and diesel SUVs, with growing interest in hybrid and electric mobility.
Jetour T2 PHEV: Rugged Styling With Plug-in Hybrid Performance
The Jetour T2 PHEV will be the larger and more adventure-focused model in the lineup. Inspired by traditional off-road SUVs, the T2 features a bold design with squared-off bodywork, prominent wheel arches, a high bonnet line and a commanding road presence.
Powering the SUV is a 1.5-litre TGDI turbocharged petrol engine paired with a plug-in hybrid system and a 3-speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT). The combined system produces 360 hp and 610 Nm of torque, enabling a 0-100 km/h sprint in around 7.5 seconds.
The T2 PHEV uses an 18.4 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack, offering a claimed electric-only range of up to 90 km under the NEDC cycle. Combined with the petrol engine, Jetour claims a total driving range of around 1,100 km, making it suitable for both daily commuting and long-distance travel.
The battery supports fast charging, with the SUV capable of charging from 30 to 80 percent in approximately 30 minutes.
Despite its rugged appearance, the T2 is positioned more as a lifestyle SUV rather than a hardcore off-roader. It features six driving modes, a 220 mm ground clearance, 20-inch wheels and adventure-inspired styling elements.
Measuring 4,785 mm in length, 2,006 mm in width and 1,880 mm in height, with a 2,800 mm wheelbase, the T2 offers generous proportions and a spacious cabin.
Inside, the SUV features a technology-focused cabin with a 15.6-inch infotainment display powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless smartphone connectivity, premium audio system, ventilated seats and a panoramic sunroof.
Safety features include Level 2 ADAS, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, autonomous emergency braking and a 540-degree camera system with transparent chassis view.
Jetour T1 PHEV: A More Compact Hybrid SUV
Joining the T2 will be the Jetour T1 PHEV, a slightly smaller SUV that retains the brand’s rugged design philosophy while offering a more urban-friendly package.
The T1 PHEV is powered by the same 1.5-litre TGDI plug-in hybrid system, producing a combined output of 335 hp and 530 Nm of torque. It uses an 26.7 kWh LFP battery pack, offering around 117 km of electric-only range (WLTC) and a claimed combined driving range of up to 1,200 km.
Measuring 4,705 mm in length, 1,967 mm in width and 1,840 mm in height, with a 2,800 mm wheelbase, the T1 offers a spacious five-seat cabin.
Equipment highlights include a large 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, Level 2 ADAS, panoramic sunroof and vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability, and more.
A Bigger Showcase From Laxmi e-Mobility
While Jetour will be one of the major highlights, Laxmi e-Mobility’s presence at NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2026 will extend beyond a single brand. Together, Jetour, Arcfox and BAIC represent three different paths towards the future of mobility—plug-in hybrids, fully electric vehicles and hybrid SUVs.
